Grooveshark has hit the skids. After nearly a decade of fighting with Sony, Warner and Universal Music Group the courts have ordered the site to close up. it was found guilty of copyright infringement for sharing music not properly obtained from the big labels. As a streaming service it once boasted of having over 30 million users. Ultimately, the courts gave the site the options of either paying a possible sum of  £490 mil ($736 mil ) in fines or accept a settlement. The owners chose the latter.
