We may be in the middle (or perhaps more towards the end) of a heatwave, but that hasn’t stopped me from getting obsessed with a few tracks recently. Below is an eclectic mixture or the new, old, upbeat and chilled tracks that I just cannot stop listening to in the glorious sunshine! So, in no particular order…(click on titles for video)

Daughter- Still

In fact, pretty much all of Daughter’s “If you leave” album has been on repeat on my sunbathing playlist. Her chilled, mesmerising music is almost meditative whilst catching some rays!

Robin Thicke (Feat. T.I. And Pharrell)- Blurred Lines

This is by far my iconic tune of the summer. It is upbeat, toe tapping and packed with enough soul to make Ray Charles swoon! To be honest, I’d quite happily cut out the middle rapping part. But it’s certainly a feel good track for those summer nights.

Rudimental (Feat Ella Eyre)- Waiting all night

Sticking with the upbeat feel, how could I not include Rudimental. I was torn between this and the John Newman colab “Not giving in” but this pipped it to the post. After watching Rudimentals Glastonbury set (on TV unfortunately), I became a little obsessed. Perhaps it’s my way of compensating for not being there, but their set was awesome and I can’t stop listening to both live versions and the original recordings.

To Kill a King- Rays

We’ve all most certainly been catching a few rays, but I’ve also been listening to some! From the brilliant album “Cannibals with Cutlery” of this great folk rock band. It’s over a year since I first heard their music and I still can’t get enough of it!

Emily Underhill- Ghosts

OK, OK, I know I featured her in my last post, but seriously, I cannot stop listening to her new EP, particularly this title track. It would’ve been wrong to not include it! Like Daughter, it’s another chilled, sunbathing one as well as into the relaxed evening BBQ atmosphere.

So, there we have it. Five tracks I can’t get enough of. There are plenty more too, if you’re lucky I’ll treat you to a few more very soon! Don’t forget to let me know what are your must-listen tracks this summer!
