Oscars 2013: The Dresses!

I love awards season, eyeing up all the stunning dresses and gasping at the questionable choices made by some celebs! I’m always excited to see what the Oscars bring us, effort levels have been notched up and everyone is out there to impress. I have to admit after looking through all of last nights images there was only a few that stood out to me and I wasn’t particularly breath-taken but here are my favourite looks:
So first up, Halle Berry aka rock chick! How stunning does she look in this Valentino gown? It’s a refreshing change from the usual flowy sorts we see and the shoulder pads give it some extra edge, she looks HOT!
A stark contrast here with Miss Jennifer Lawrence, the girl every guy wants to date and every girl wants to be. She looks every inch a Disney Princess here in Dior Haute Couture and she just looks divine! I think I love her even more after her tumble up the stairs.
Charlize Theron also in Dior looks sharp, fresh and stunning. I love the cut of this gown and her pixi crop is a perfect match.
Jessica Chastain looks the epitome of class in this Armani Prive gown, the lips and hair work so well with the neutral shade of the dress.
Next up is Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta, at first I wasn’t sold on this but I think it’s the perfect Oscars dress. She looks like a princess and I’m a really big fan of the powder blue shade.
Finally, the gorgeous Amanda Seyfried in McQueen. I love the embellishment on this dress and the overall elegance of the look.
A few looks I wasn’t sold on:
So firstly, Anne Hathaway in this pink Prada gown. For me this was just slightly bland and unexciting. I definitely won’t remember this outfit and what’s with the nipples, Anne?!
Next up is Kerry Washington in Miu Miu, not an offensive gown but just a little boring. She looks gorgeous but I’m just not keen on the coral colour and it reminds me of a prom dress.
Lastly, Catherine Zeta Jones in Zuhair Murad, I can’t quite put my finger on why I dislike this dress so much. I’m not keen on the structured top and I think I just find it all a little tacky.
Do you have any favourite gowns of the night? Do you agree with my choices?
